KAMPALA CASINO

kampala casinoKampala Casino is the very first casino in Uganda, so it definitely has experience on its side. It prides itself on traditions, which include a friendly staff, a touch of class, numerous games and the biggest jackpots in town. But is that pride justified? Actually, yes, most of it is – Kampala Casino, despite its unimaginative name, is actually a brilliant venue with plenty of interesting features that are bound to attract consumers. It offers over different slots (some with pretty impressive jackpots) and 14 tables for games like American roulette, blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Let it Ride, and, of course, pontoon.

Overall, the casino has a pretty relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Despite being located in the very heart of Kampala, it really comes off a bit like a friendly local joint, in the best possible way. That’s not to say it’s small – with a main room of over 4,000 square feet, there’s plenty of space for everyone. I’m more referring to the attitude of the servers and dealers. The staff is always there to help, perfectly happy to teach new players and assist them in whatever legal way they can, even if that means that the casino may lose some of its profit – after all, a clueless gambler may spend more, but will leave dissatisfied. The various servers are always around, providing players with free food and beverages, such as coffee, soft drinks or beer. While harder alcohol does need to be paid, everything else is on the house for as long as you’re playing.

Food is actually a pretty big part of Kampala Casino’s charm. Aside from the main casino section, they also have a restaurant that’s open at the same time (every day from noon to 6am). The restaurant prides itself on its cuisine, offering everything from standard European dishes that you can find anywhere to more traditional (and absolutely delicious-looking) African dishes. You can order an individual meal (a la carte) or take part in a daily African buffet with dishes from all regions of Uganda. Additionally, every Thursday the buffet is accompanied by a live jazz night, and every Friday you’ll get a chance to enjoy Indian cuisine, if you’d like to try something a bit different. Overall, Kampala Casino is near perfect in almost every way – it’s an ideal blend of a casino and a restaurant, which, while still keeping the casino in the lead, where it should be, manages to integrate both parts spectacularly well.
