SCF focus on access to education

The 20-year-old armed conflict in northern Uganda has had a negative impact and grossly affected the lives of children in the region. The rate of children dropping-out of schools is alarming, children have been abducted, several displaced, and many are orphaned and out of school. SCF is working to help end this.

SCF working to promote children's rights

It is the plight of children caught in the war that prompted Save the Children in Uganda to extend its helping hand to the districts of Gulu, Pader, Lira and Apac. Save the Children collaborates with the army in training soldiers, to protect the rights of the children caught up in the war.

SCF intervenes to boost quality education

Save the Children US as part of its campaign to help disadvantaged children in rural areas of Luwero and Nakasongola set up Early Childhood Development projects. The projects were started because of the demand by parents and the community to accommodate the children that were outside the target group of nearby schools.
